Surrounding Area

Lime Lodge is situated in the Clun Valley surrounded by the Shropshire hills. This idyllic riverside setting will appeal to walkers, cyclists, bird watchers, couples looking for a romantic break or those simply just wanting to relax on the riverside decking with a glass of wine. Scenic walks can be taken from the doorstep.  The famous Offa's Dyke trail is close by and numerous historic sites can be explored including an iron age fort at Bury Ditches. The small town of Clun (two miles away) boasts quaint shops, two pubs serving food and Clun Castle which makes for an enjoyable trip.

Ludlow Marketplaces to go

Ludlow Town is 15 miles south of Clunton, a popular town with many traditional shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants.  Several markets are held each week which offer local produce and crafts in abundance. A visit to the famous Ludlow Castle is also recommended. 


 Bury Ditches              

Bury Ditches is a wonderful example of a hillfort; the views are breathtaking, too. Until 1976, it was shrouded in trees - but a storm blew many of them down, and then the Forestry Commision felled the remainder of trees from the ramparts, revealing the oval-shape hillfort
